Michael DeSiato Earns CSP® to Help Owners Exit with Confidence

Michael DeSiato earns CSP® designation, showcasing expertise in succession planning, business transitions, and exit strategy solutions.

The International Succession Planning Association® (ISPA®) is pleased to announce that Michael DeSiato, CPA, CExP, CEPA, CVGA, has earned the Certified Succession Planner™ (CSP®) designation. With more than 40 years of experience in public accounting, Michael has dedicated his career to advising mid-sized business owners and guiding them through strategic ownership transitions. As the founder of Business Transition Specialists (BTS), his expertise is transforming the way owners approach exit planning.

Decades of Trusted Expertise

Michael’s journey in public accounting began in 1977 after earning his Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida International University (FIU) and later a Master’s in taxation from the same institution. He advanced quickly in his field, eventually becoming Managing Partner and leading his firm’s sale to a national organization in the late 1990s. Over the years, he has built a reputation for his sound tax and financial advice. Recognizing a growing need among his clients, Michael expanded his focus to exit planning, earning additional credentials such as the CExP, CEPA, and CVGA.

Innovative Business Exit Planning

At Business Transition Specialists, Michael designs personalized exit strategies that go beyond simply selling a business. His firm offers a suite of services aimed at ensuring a seamless transition, including:

  • Business Growth Drive Process: Strategies to boost company value ahead of a transition.
  • Exit Option Analysis: Evaluating various exit strategies for optimal financial and operational outcomes.
  • Inside Transfer Planning: Preparing key employees or family members for leadership roles.
  • Tax Optimization for Exits: Minimizing tax liabilities during ownership transfers.
  • Business Continuity Planning: Safeguarding the company against unforeseen disruptions.

Michael is also the author of The Inside Game, a practical guide on transferring business ownership effectively—a critical, yet often overlooked, element of exit planning.

Recognized Excellence in Succession Planning

The CSP® designation from ISPA® validates Michael’s comprehensive understanding of financial structuring, leadership continuity, family dynamics, and strategic planning. This recognition underscores his commitment to helping business owners transition on their own terms, ensuring that their companies thrive long after the handover.

Continuing the Journey

Michael DeSiato’s new CSP® certification marks another milestone in his commitment to secure successful business transitions. His goal is to help owners navigate one of the most significant financial events of their lives, ensuring that both their personal and financial goals are met.
